When I joined CP, (I am already running Seti) I get the following message in the logs(Running Win2000).

I have allocated 500M of HD space for Boinc when I installed and the space is still there, but how much space is needed for CP? Do I need to increase the amount of space needed? How do I do that?

Greetings, Randall,

CPDN is a very demanding project, in terms of both time and resources. It is a HUGE Model.

500M won't get the job done for CPDN. Please check FAQ
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/quick_faq.php#g

The FAQ understates the requirement. A gig and generous settings in your Preferences should comfortably do it.

The second Model will require even more space, because there will be a large archived file from the first run (unless you unload it to another HD/CD/DVD).

If you are running a HT CPU with both sides enabled on your Preferences, double the space requirements.

I've freed up to nearly 3GB and allocated 85% of the swap file for this
project and still BOINC tells me that there's not enough diskspace.

There was talk about 600MB needed space pr model, and I've 5x that, and even that's not enough for Boinc to do even ONE model - WHY?

There are three settings. As you have plenty of space, you can be generous in the share you allow BOINC, so I suggest putting 'no more than' quite high. Make sure they all satisfy the requirement.

I agree that it can be frustrating. But changing the numbers and selecting update (right click on the project name in the projects tab) usually sorts it out.

Hello.

You are all speaking about configuration parameters, but I have not been able to find out where those settings are defined. I am using BOINC 4.45 for Windows and I can run nicely both Einstein@Home and SETI@Home. However, in case of CP I cannot even download the wu as I get always these messages:

Message from server: No work available (there was work but you don't have enough disk space allocated)

Where can I set this configuration data?.

Thanx in advance ...

If you go to the 'Your account' page from the menu on the left of this page, and then find the section marked 'Preferences', it is the general preferences you need to edit.

Ask for more help if you need it.

The preferences can be found by going to 'Your Account' (in left menu) then general preferences. There is an edit preferences link.

After changing the preferences, you need to either wait for a communication or use the update command from BOINC for the project where you changed the preferences.

Sometimes all this appears not to work and you may need to exit BOINC and restart it.
