What happened to the idle time in the preferences? I used to them when they were their because I can\'t have BOINC using up 100% of my prosesser when I am using my computer. Now they are gon and even if I lower the resource share it still used 100% of my prosesser. BRING BACK THE IDLE TIME! Sorry if I sound rude in this but even though I have 2.4 ghz my computer runs slow when BOINC is running. |

You should be able to access this if you dig down to the edit general preferences screen. For obvious reasons, it doesn't apply if Do work while computer is in use? is set to yes. If you don't have this, what BOINC version are you using? |

Not quite sure what you mean about missing preference settings. I'm still seeing all 4 options in my general preferences. Temporarily set up as follows and works fine for me with the exception detailed below. Do work while computer is running on batteries? no Do work while computer is in use? no Do work only after computer is idle for 3 minutes Do work only between the hours of 17:00 and 8:00 The second pair don't appear to do anything when running boinc_cli.exe (either as a service or from the command line). I've just checked the source code and found that boinc.dll (which checks for user activity) is only loaded by boinc_gui.exe, so I've raised it as a problem on the BOINC development mailing list.
Join us here |

There is also a bug in the suspend type preferences. If you have venue preferences set the computer will not suspend. This is fixed in the CCv4.53 GUI, the CLI still has bugs with suspending though. NOTE: CCv4.13 is the latest public release version anything later is still in testing.
John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- |
