Things worked fine under the classical model but since changing to BOINC I have not had any work! Prefs etc are ok and SETI, Protein predictor etc all work fine but not climate. Is it because I am running Boinc Manager 4.38 or what?

It could indeed be a version specific problem, as there are difficulties with the new scheduler.

You can try version 4.25 and see if you get better results. It has the old style scheduling algorithm.
