No announcement until now...
See <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3044">here</a>
Also no change in credits. Still waiting eagerly ;)

So, another week gone by, another bunch of trickles send and nothing changed in the credit situation. One of my models is going to end and i'm afraid to send it to nirvana. This situation starts topping the SETI outages... and that's <b>not</b> a compliment ;)
<b>Hello! Anybody in there?</b>

Just checked my account and credits have now taken a big leap.

Don't know if it's the same for everyone or if they have just started to come through. Best check your account. If your credits have not been assigned then please be patient just a bit longer.

(edit) Also see the news release from last Friday. It is going to take time to recalculate a months worth of credits for everyons.(End edit)

I just started in the middle of the troubles. A few days ago I finally got my third trickle and I just received my first credits so they are making progress. For those concerned with rankings, if they have time to upgrade their XML stats today then that should reflect in our score. At least we are going in the right direction. All projects are down from time to time. The beauty of BOINC is that you can crunch something else in the meantime.

O.K. Credits started flowing in, but not all of them, on 1 my computer I miss credits for 3 trickles and on the other I miss 2. Hope to see them added soon.

Nothing changed here, still ~10-12 trickles credit missing.
Additionally i have a model near the end of phase 3 and it is only showing data for phase 1 and the data for phase 2 is complete missing. I hope this data is not 'down the drain' ;)

xml stats upgraded so you can see your rank. Ulrich, please let me know if you lose credit or science on your phase 3. What worries me most about climate is reports of lost data. Three hours lost computing time is nothing, 13 hours is something, but nine months of computing is too much to risk being lost! If climate really has a problem with this then I need to stick with other projects.

It looks like credits are correct for results that have returned trickles today. Progress was delayed by an enforced server upgrade at the weekend to cater for a problem introduced by a couple of new fields in one of the BOINC tables.

It seems that live crediting is working again but that the script needed to recalculate credits for trickles made in the past month has still to be tested and run on the live data.

No, i sent 3 trickles today at 9:48 UTC, they recorded at around 12:00 UTC. Until now (16:35 UTC) there is no granted credit. I still have the same credit since 19th of june. As stated, trickles go through, but no credit or model data is displayed.

Hmm. Looking at http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=625133

shows granted credit 5293 which is correct for 56 trickles. I saw that happen a little while before my credits jumped. Maybe the next update to the stats?

Latest statement is from Carl in <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?p=28124#28124">this thread</a>. Looks as though some people may be out of luck.

That's ok, but in my account and in the BOINC manager my credit didn't change since 19th june. This really sucks. First they let the servers go wild instead of shutting down and stopping clients from reporting and additionally ruining the credits with their sloppiness :/
I hope at least the science value is preserved...

Yeah, it looks like I got stiffed on one result. Though the XML stat update sure made today a red letter day ... 12,000 cobblestones for one day ... 10,000 from CPDN.

Oh well, I still have my health ... oh no, drat, I forgot I'm disabled ...

Well, I'm going to speak up in defence of the project team.

The only way they could have been stopped clients from reporting would have been by shutting down the scheduler. Which would have stopped people from registering or downloading new results (and probably generated even more complaints).

The trickle problem was related to an unforeseen database performance problem which caused most inserts of the trickle XML data into the BOINC 'msg_from_host' table to fail (this table is post-processed to generate the trickles and credits shown on the account pages). The insert failures were compounded because of a bug in the BOINC scheduler which caused trickle messages to be acknowledged even though the insert had failed. This has been fixed in the server software version that Carl upgraded to at the weekend (as has a similar problem in updating the completion status of results).

&gt; I hope at least the science value is preserved...

Absolutely ;)

Which actually would have been the absolute right way, because people <b>know and understand</b> that at times projects are not available if it is properly announced.
But a message on the frontpage stating the project is not available would surely not have been a good advertising match for <a href="http://www.climateprediction.net/newsb.php?id=2">that</a>
Instead they put the head in the sand and let the people run into the open knife. That's <b>my</b> point of view. Comments welcome...

&gt; ...
&gt; Absolutely ;)

Hopefully ;)

Well, sad news. It does not seem like all is working well. Yes, I got a ton of the credits I was missing, but I have since trickled, and no credits posted. So, it looks like they will be doing the manual thing for a while, until they get all the automated processes to get back in order.

It would be nice to see a new XML file, also.

According to the front page the global stats have not been updated since 24 June, so there may be more to be done.

Carl reads the boards, so we will get response at some point.
