Had to rebuild a PC and since reinstalling Boinc 4.45 I have been unable to produce work as at start up the error \"failed to connect\" comes up at start up.

So can\'t connect to any projects. So can\'t do work.
I have 5 other machines and this is the first time I have struck this problem.
I have uninstalled and reinstalled but no success.
Can anyone suggest a way to solve this?

AMD Athlon 2000+XP
512Mg RAM
WINXP Home SP2

Check that your firewall lets BOINCManager connect to the world (and to boinc.exe)
Check also the XP firewall.
Check that there aren't several instance of BOINCManager or of Boinc.exe in the Task Manager.
Check that your remote_host.cfg (if you're using it) contains the local IP of your machine.
Try to connect with 127.0.0.1 or the local IP of your machine.
Try to unistall, reboot, install again...

3 more tries at reinstalling after completely uninstalling has solved the problem.
All working well.
