Message 16180 - Posted: 23 Sep 2005, 0:31:15 UTC

I signed up as a participant yesterday but am unable to recieve any work units from the server. I have no problems with BOINC getting WU\'s from Einstein or SETI. Below are the messages from the server, I have had approx ten of these messages everytime BOINC contacts the server. I have Reset the project, updated etc but nothing works

Regards
Peter

There is a problem at Oxford about missing data sets.
(See <a href=\"http://www.climateprediction.net/board/viewtopic.php?t=3228\"> this</a> thread.)
They were looking into it, and I thought it would be fixed by now.
Try again tomorrow.

The daily quota is to prevent computers with a problem from wasteing lots of data sets.
Which doesn\'t apply here.

I think BOINC is insisting on downloading a sulphur model, and the problem is associated with these models. If you detatch and re-attach, you may just get a slab model instead, and there is no problem with these.

You may subsequently need to merge computers because this process will create the newly attached computer as a separate machine from the old one. Merging is easy from your account pages (my computers)

the missing workunits problem should be fixed now; our \"BOINC file deleter\" was a little overzealous. I have also resorted the BOINC feeder array so that it will try to send you a sulphur cycle workunit first (if your CPU & disk space allow), and then a slab model next. This required some modifications to the \"BOINC feeder\" since it wasn\'t really setup for prioritized multiple apps on a project simultaneously.
