sorry, i´ll finish the project, because it´s too hard to run it. i had about 10 failed projects and a lot of queries. i think it is too hard for normal people to run it. it should only run like in cp classic...but it doesn´t. so thanks to all who helped me and bye, soho |

I\'m sorry that you had those problems. It will be consolation to you, but it does run with few problems on a lot of machines, and I doubt whether their owners would all regard themselves as computer experts. It is probably an imncompatibility with your particular computer - for example some other program you are running such as anti-virus software or a componemt driver, or perhaps it is a problem with the hardware itself. There is nothing to stop you from running classic if that works for you, and in any case it would be worth trying again in few months to see whether anything has changed. |

new compiler that is SSE2 friendly for AMD? New compiler with no SSE2 optimizations, but is still much (perhaps 20%) faster for AMD than the current one. |

Hi Soho My commiserations. Like you, I had repeated failures on cpdn boinc, and despite over 2 months of attempting to diagnose and correct errors, was unable to run it. So I reverted to classic, which is crunching beautifully. You could do the same, you would not be alone. __________________________________________________ |

It would be a new model, with a new version number, which will download a new version of the program. When it\'s ready. At the moment, all programming effort is on the very long spinup model, (any day now), and then the coupled ocean model. |

If you have machines with models that are nearing completion and you want to wait a bit to see what the next version will bring then click the \"No new work\" button in the \"Projects\" tab in your Boinc Manager. Once your model is done no additional models will be downloaded until you press the \"Allow new work\" button. If you have other BOINC projects running on that machine, they will take up the processing slack. I have a number of machines with CPDN paused at the moment, and running SETI, while I try to decide whether or not I really want to run a 2000 hour CPDN model. A new compile that runs faster and is more stable will certainly help. |
