I finally stopped receiving Sulphur Cycle WU\'s and got back to the HADSM ones, and they crash too! What a poor fellow to do? I just wanna use my CPU cycles for something that will actually help the planet and I can\'t.
I\'m running 4.45. Do I need to reinstall, install the 5.2.2 or is Win98 just the ugly, unwanted, red-headed stepchild of CPDN? SETI has no problems at all but the aliens are still hiding really, REALLY well.

Win98/ME hasn\'t worked with cpdn since March. I could be wrong, but unless there is a windfall of free time for the IT people, I doubt that CPDN will ever work again with those OS\'s.

Not even Microsoft supports Win98 anymore.
But, apparently, it WILL run classic cpdn.
If you\'re prepared to give up other projects, and BOINC credits.

Well, mostly true. They still support as far as bug fixes, etc. are concerned.

So you\'re saying I AM an ugly, smelly, stupid, unwanted, red-headed stepchild? :)
Kinda figured that but had to ask. I WAS planning on upgrading soon to Win98 SE. Guess I\'ll need to go a bit further to continue with the project, huh? :>

Well ... you could always fall back to NT4.0 . :> CPDN will run on it just fine (so far ...)

And then there\'s Linux. In a large variety of flavours.
And it\'s free. Mostly.

If you are trying to run CPDN on BOINC under W98/ME it won\'t work... CPDN on BOINC under W98/ME is NOT supported... Either use Classic CPDN or try another OS.

I believe that you will have better luck with NT4 if your H/W can cope with it.
