I upgraded my single core wini with a dual core opteron on socket 939

It gave me a new host number which I managed to merge with the old number

others have not been able to merge their machines but you should still have all your credits under your account ID even if your host ID ends up being different

see my result above to see how the host ID changes when I switched processors (after merging the hosts)

Thank you for your answer. We hope to keep stats for the machine because it have very good score and we need to satisfy sponsors. The machine is already multiprocessors so I hope lack of software reconfiguration will induce same results (as yours).
Obiously the machine\'descriptors/parameters inside the Boinc databases must change to allow more slots and to figure out the increased number of processors. I read somewhere (I don\'t remember where!) that machine ID is based on processor description so I know that this can lead to problems. I read also (where?!)that some people were not able to merge the \"new-upgraded\" machine with the \"old-fantom one\". Again we hope we will have your scenario because of sponsoring/marketing.
Why some can merge (like you) and some cannot? There is certainly a precise reason.
Did your processors have the same frequency?
Curiously now the description for your machine (before and after) are the same for the processor (AuthenticAMD Dual Core AMD Opteron(tm) Processor 175)...
Another \"bug\" the upgraded \"create date\" do not retain the original creation date. That explain some very stranges stats we can see with dozen of WU done in few days. This is for me clearly a bug that lead to an easy way for \"cheating\".
Once again the problem is serious because of sponsoring/marketing. I hope Carl will fix that.
Thanks again.
