I Installed BOINC and when it came time to attach the climate prediction project, I enter my email address as an exsisting account, and then the account key (in the password area) that is listed on the email (I also tried the one from the website) and it says \"Verify your account name and password and please try again\" however everything I entered is the same as the website and email. When I get out of that box, there is a red message in the message area that says missing account key. It never asked for that, so I assume that is the key i received in the email. Please help! |

Have you set up your own password using the \"Change password\" link on the \"Your account\" page (this is a direct link)? When you connect to the project you should use that password instead of the account key you received in the email. I have entered both my account key and my password, and it always says \"Failed to attach to project\". When I check the messages, it says \"Missing Account Key\". I\'ve tried with both Mac and PC. I am with Craig, and I\'ll find a different project. |

Have you set up your own password using the \"Change password\" link on the \"Your account\" page (this is a direct link)? It is sad we have to jump thru hoops but if one calms down and just reads a tiny bit it becomes easier. I also was ticked but did change pw and now im in. Cheers |

Good for you, kd6fyk. Unfortunately, BOINC underwent a major change recently, and instructions haven\'t caught up. And now there are all the SETI classic people who have left it to the last minute to change. If it had been in October, it would have been simpler, and people could have become used to BOINC. Oh, well. |

Have you set up your own password using the \"Change password\" link on the \"Your account\" page (this is a direct link)? You are showing no computers attached to this project, so something is wrong. I would suggest exiting BOINC completely and then trying again. If it does not automatically come up with the attach wizard then select \'attach to project\' under the project menu. BOINC WIKI BOINCing since 2002/12/8 |

I\'m having the same trouple updating my account. I\'ve successfully updated my password (proof = me able to login to this discussion board). But I still am not able to login to \"Your account.\" I enter my e-mail address and password, or I enter my account key, but when I submit this information it just kicks me back to the blank \"Your account\" login screen again. The only solution I\'ve read in these discussions is to change my password. I\'ve tried this, and it doesn\'t seem to work. What else can I do? |

I had this problem for a few days on the Seasonal Attrib. Project. One thing that will zap attempts with account key, though, is to also have your email address in the email + Passwork block. I though they were completely separate but apparently not. (When I finally got in, it was with the account key, after a failure with Email + P/W. Hope it works for you.) Thanks for the reply, but every combination of my e-mail address and/or password and/or account key failed to log me in. But I have since fiddled around and found out what was wrong. Since others may have the same problem, I\'ll outline it: I could not login via Internet Explorer or Mozilla Firefox on my home computer. But I found out I could login using my work computer. It turns out I can login from my home computer when I disable my McAfee Privacy Service. I must have McAfee on privacy settings too restrictive to allow me to login to climateprediction.net. I\'d imagine whether you use McAfee or some other computer security program (eg- Norton), you could be prevented from login unless you disable the privacy service. Problem solved for me - thanks! I\'d imagine whether you use McAfee or some other computer security program (eg- Norton), you could be prevented from login unless you disable the privacy service. My problem turned out to be my Zone Alarm Security Suite, even after I had added BOINC.exe to the allowed blacklist in imf_editor.exe. Will work around it, thanks Jay for the direction. Paula |
