Have you tried it with a password instead of the account key? This is the way to go with the new BOINC. You may have to go to your Account page and change/create a password. |

You say haven\'t changed the password, but did you create one? You can do this by going to your Account page, (in the blue menu to the left of here), and use the Change password option near the top. |

Have you tried it with a password instead of the account key? Yes, I have tried it with a password instead of the account key. I have also gone to my Account page and changed the password. It still won\'t let me attach to a project. I get the error message: \"BOINC Manager is unable to connect to a BOINC client.\" Now what? |

ros77uk There are 2 parts to BOINC: 1) The Manager or gui, which displays what is going on with the model, 2) The \'worker\', which does the communicating, and various other tasks. This part is also called the \'client\'. These two parts \'talk\' via a port in your computer, and need to be connected. THIS is what the manager is saying; it can\'t talk to the other part. There will be a message on the right hand end of the bottom blue bar of the manager giving the status of this communicating: If they can\'t \'talk\', it\'ll say something like: Not connected When they ARE able to \'talk\', it\'ll say: Connected to localhost Sometimes other programs block the port that is needed, and a re-boot will fix it. A quicker way is to click on \'File\' in the menu, then click \'Select computer\' Now click OK without anything in the 2 fields. Once they are connected, you can go to Projects in the menu, and click: \'Attach to project\'. Now put in the url of this project, which you received in an email. |
