Fisrt off, are the two halves of BOINC talking to each other? If they are, you will have Connected to localhost on the right hand side of the bottom blue line of the gui. If not, click File/Select computer, and then click OK without putting anything in the 2 fields, which is only for info to describe one of your remote computers. Which you probably don\'t have. And which need a couple more files as well. Next, make sure that you don\'t have any blank spaces at either end of the url when you paste it. And don\'t include a / at the right hand end. Post back with what you get at this stage. |

Help anybody? Still can\'t do this! Sorry, the BBC experiment has been keeping people busy with an influx of new users. It looks as though something at your end is blocking communication. The obvious answer would be a firewall - often they don\'t do you the courtesy of telling you that they have done so. If this does not seem to be the issue and you have the patience, you could look on the BOINC Wiki where there is a long article on troubleshooting network problems. And there are much more knowledgeable people who call this way who might have the answer if you can pin it down, or try the other CPDN board - the forum. |
