Since yesterday, I\'ve been encountering this problem. The client is running fine, and so do other projects I\'m participating in.
Since it says \'temporarily failed\', will it go away w/o any intervention?
TIA for any help/suggestions.

I\'m not an expert, but some should be online soon, when Dawn comes to Europe. (And, error 413 isn\'t on my cheat-sheet.)

The work unit finished Phase one (259,248 Time Steps completed) successfully -- at least, the Trickle was posted and the Phase One graph is available.

All things equal, the end-of-Phase upload should take care of itself. (It\'s possible the server to which it is directed is down at the moment.) In the past, for final uploads, attempts would continue for two weeks. Not sure if the same is true for these intermediate uploads.

It might be useful to disable network connection (in the Commands tab) for a few hours, in case it is a server problem. (Otherwise, with each failure to connect, boinc increments the wait time.)

This is but a finger-in-the-Dike post. I hope you have a solution by the time I roll out of the sack in the morning. (Nearing bed time here...) Best of luck.

Edit: Noticed that you still have SP1 on your WinXP; SP2 is available, plus later fixes for some nasties prowling the Internet.

From RFC2616:
10.4.14 413 Request Entity Too Large

The server is refusing to process a request because the request entity is larger than the server is willing or able to process. The server MAY close the connection to prevent the client from continuing the request.

If the condition is temporary, the server SHOULD include a Retry-After header field to indicate that it is temporary and after what time the client MAY try again.
It sounds like something at your end has an outgoing file size limit (if you\'re using a proxy server that\'s the most likely place).

Yup that was the problem - I\'m running a Squid proxy on a different machine, had to increase request_body_max_size in squid.conf to 12 MB, now it works again.
Thanks a lot!
