Since yesterday, I\'ve been encountering this problem. The client is running fine, and so do other projects I\'m participating in. Since it says \'temporarily failed\', will it go away w/o any intervention? TIA for any help/suggestions. 26.02.2006 10:08:04||Starting BOINC client version 5.2.13 for windows_intelx86 26.02.2006 10:08:04||libcurl/7.14.0 OpenSSL/0.9.8 zlib/1.2.3 26.02.2006 10:08:04||Data directory: E:\\Anwendungen\\BOINC 26.02.2006 10:08:04||Processor: 1 AuthenticAMD AMD Athlon(TM) XP 2500+ 26.02.2006 10:08:04||Memory: 1023.53 MB physical, 2.40 GB virtual 26.02.2006 10:08:04||Disk: 19.99 GB total, 17.71 GB free 26.02.2006 10:08:04|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 253476; location: home; project prefs: default 26.02.2006 10:08:04||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 26.02.2006 10:08:05||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 26.02.2006 10:08:05|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result sulphur_aiam_000490270_0 using sulphur_cycle version 419 26.02.2006 10:08:05|climateprediction.net|Started upload of sulphur_aiam_000490270_0_1.zip 26.02.2006 10:08:12|climateprediction.net|Temporarily failed upload of sulphur_aiam_000490270_0_1.zip: error 413 26.02.2006 10:08:12|climateprediction.net|Backing off 1 hours, 2 minutes, and 0 seconds on upload of file sulphur_aiam_000490270_0_1.zip |

I\'m not an expert, but some should be online soon, when Dawn comes to Europe. (And, error 413 isn\'t on my cheat-sheet.) The work unit finished Phase one (259,248 Time Steps completed) successfully -- at least, the Trickle was posted and the Phase One graph is available. All things equal, the end-of-Phase upload should take care of itself. (It\'s possible the server to which it is directed is down at the moment.) In the past, for final uploads, attempts would continue for two weeks. Not sure if the same is true for these intermediate uploads. It might be useful to disable network connection (in the Commands tab) for a few hours, in case it is a server problem. (Otherwise, with each failure to connect, boinc increments the wait time.) This is but a finger-in-the-Dike post. I hope you have a solution by the time I roll out of the sack in the morning. (Nearing bed time here...) Best of luck. Edit: Noticed that you still have SP1 on your WinXP; SP2 is available, plus later fixes for some nasties prowling the Internet. From RFC2616: 10.4.14 413 Request Entity Too LargeIt sounds like something at your end has an outgoing file size limit (if you\'re using a proxy server that\'s the most likely place). "The ultimate test of a moral society is the kind of world that it leaves to its children." - Dietrich Bonhoeffer |

Yup that was the problem - I\'m running a Squid proxy on a different machine, had to increase request_body_max_size in squid.conf to 12 MB, now it works again. Thanks a lot! |
