I am running the climate project on 2 computers my laptop (Win XP) which is running the BOINC Manager as well; and my Linux server running boinc using CPUs. Is there a way of connecting the BOINC Manager (WinXP) to the Linux one??

I know that both are working fine and sending the results but I wanted to check and get info about the boinc running on (WinXP)

There\'s a couple of things you need to do before you can monitor the Linux system.

• You need to create the file remote_hosts.xml in your Linux system\'s BOINC directory. It needs to contain the name or IP address of your WinXP system.
  
  
• In the Linux system\'s BOINC directory there should be a file gui_rpc_auth.xml. Whatever\'s contained in that is the password you need to use for connections from your WinXP system.
  

Personally I\'d always opt for BoincView instead of BOINC Manager for controlling more than one system. The port number for IP connections will be 1043 or 31416 depending on the version of BOINC you\'re running.
