I have a dual core PC that runs two workunits. One of them stopped trickling (last trickle from Feb. 28), although it seems to continue calculations. The other workunit trickles as it should (about 1-2 times a day).
What should I do?

I think to start with, I\'d like you to look through the messages for the period around Feb 28, and see if there is a clue.
Copy some of the lines, and paste them here if you want help with it.

I attach below all the log for Feb. 28. The problematic result id is 1711207, corresponding to sulphur_i8vt_100851321_0.
Looking at the trickle list, I see there was another hole in the period of Feb. 14 to Feb. 23, when a number of trickles occurred. Is that normal behavior? The computer is logged to the network essentially all the time.

Towards the end are several occurances of this:

Error 113 is saying that it can\'t get to the internet.

I used to have this when I was still on dialup.
The sequence was:
manually dialup
reconnect BOINC to the net (version 4.25, which was different to 5.*; there was a single line in the menu, which was a \'toggle\')
BOINC would trickle
disconnect BOINC from the net
Have a browse on a few sites while I was logged on
disconnect from the net

But every now and then I\'d forget to dialup first, and this is where I\'d get error 113.

The disconnection from the network on Feb. 28 was a rare event - the computer is connected most of the time, and nevertheless this result didn\'t trickle since Feb. 28. I nevertheless tried to manually stop communication, I then disconnected and reconnected to the net, and then reconnected the project and updated the project in order to force a communication. The log for these operations is attached below. Nevertheless, the trickle list for the result didn\'t get updated.

If the trickles aren\'t being sent, then they will accumulate in the folder of the model.
They\'re called trickle_up_........

What\'s the current phase and timestep for the result sulphur_i8vt_100851321? I suspect that one of the BOINC restarts just after 1700 on 28th Feb might have caused the model to go back to the beginning, in which case you won\'t get any more credits for it until you get to timestep 205,238 in phase 3.

Time step 248736 in phase 1. So this is presumably the problem.
Is there a way of avoiding such restarts? Or if they happen, is it possible to go back a shorter distance?

I\'m slowing down. :(
I thought there should be a simple reason for only one model being affected, but I just couldn\'t see it. Just as well Thyme Lawn reads these boards.

Restarts may be caused by hardware instabilities, or software conflicts, so anything you can do to minimise these will improve your chances of avoiding a repeat. But \'hardware instabilities\' includes lightning strikes near a power line, causing a momentary dip/spike in the voltage, so it isn\'t always possible to fix everything.

And how far it rewinds is up to the program; there\'s nothing you can do about it.
Except to make regular backups and keep an eye on the models progress.
