After an XP update, my BOINC Manager 5.2.13 locks up at \'Connecting to Local Host\' with the following event log: Can anyone help??

(I\'ve tried re-installing BOINC, and running the older version. I can also get programs to run in the command prompt window.)

Some of the Windows XP updates reset the XP Firewall settings. Please look into these settings to make sure you have allowed boincmgr and boinc to talk on localhost.

Well, I discovered if I open a command prompt, run \"C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\boinc.exe\" and then go to start, run, \"C:\\Program Files\\BOINC\\boincmgr\" the manager loads and runs normally, as long as I keep the command prompt window open. (Boinc can not be in any start menus). Not ideal, but at least I can use it for now.
