occasionally I have to power down, (not grid connected). on repowering, the connection to the local host is lost and all work on current project. So far lost 2x~40% of Sulphur experiments. the only solution seems to be to attach to a new project and restart.Recent messages below. Help appreciated.

running intel pentium 4 windows XP BOINC 5.2.13

2006-03-20 19:36:02 [climateprediction.net] If this happens repeatedly you may need to reset the project.

Checked your computers (if they are the same physical machine, they can be \"merged\" in your Preferences). One Run was aborted by you. Two machines show currently-active Work Units.

The \"exited with zero status but no \'finished\' file\" is usually benign; shouldn\'t be anything to be concerned about.

I don\'t understand the time sequence in the log. Anything in what happened with the machine between 18:49/19:36 and 23:01.59 that could offer a clue?

Do you end BOINC before shutting down Windows? Open BOINC Manager, Commands -> Suspend; File -> Exit. This will make sure that all file writes are completed and consistent before the system is powered down.

Also, regular backups of the entire BOINC folder will help recover if anything happens to the current WU.

I\'ve merged the two computers, they are both the same machine and deleted the host with zero activity. Re-established the WU fine, and continuing. Thanks!
