I am trying to attach to www.climateprediction.net. It always fails with the same message

Scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi failed with a return value of 500

I have successfully created an account and assigned myself a password.

What I am doing wrong?

What version of BOINC are you using Keith? If it\'s 5.2.13 it has a problem with some proxy servers that cause this error. The problem is fixed in any version from 5.3.17 onwards in the BOINC download archive (the 5.3.* versions are development releases and come with the usual health warning).

I am now using 5.3.17 - but I am still seeing a similar HTTP error:

I am behind a web proxy and firewall.

If I try the URL http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi in my Firefox browser (configured with the same proxy, username and password) I see some climate prediction xml.

Is the something else I can try? Is there someway to up the diagnostic level from boinc?

That message comes from libcurl and it\'s usually generated when there\'s a proxy authentication problem. If you can run a network protocol analyzer (e.g. Ethereal) you should be able to capture the communication sequence.
