I would appreciate if you would simply reduce the disk space involved. This is actually one of my favorite projects on BOINC but I just can\'t continue because of the size. Please let me know if/when there will be smaller work units available. Thank you so much for your time and effort. |

The new Coupled Ocean models do this. About 500 Megs I think, and they clean up after they finish. But they\'re a lot longer. You can recover a fair bit of space by deleting the folders of all the models that crashed. |

You can recover a fair bit of space by deleting the folders of all the models that crashed. can\'t this be done automaticly? I\'m not workin on all of my computing machines, so that I can\'t steady delete the directorys. it would be nice, when at least the folder of the second last model would be deleted, when a new model is downloading. is waiting for a dual quad core mobo and the quad cpus to roll out. I\'m simply waiting now for a twin dual core mobo..... May be waiting awhile. |

[quote]You can recover a fair bit of space by deleting the folders of all the models that crashed. can\'t this be done automaticly?/quote] The newest version is supposed to clean up after itself. I just got my first new unit, so I am unsure. Sulpher and earlier do not clean up. |

Thanks. I have the space currently to run the other models the problem is the build up of models over time, frankly it is just easier to not run it than it is to clean up the models. Partially because I don\'t know which models I can safely delete. Maybe moving completed files into a special folder (if you don\'t want to automatically delete). Or there should be options so we can determine our own usage parameters. Thanks for the other responses as well. The new Coupled Ocean models do this. You can tell the names of models that are working by looking in the Work tab. Everthing else has crashed. |
