I have two working computers, and I recently changed them both over to running the BBC Climate Change Experiment. On the older computer I run one WU as it only has a CPU of 1.6 GB, and 512 RAM. The newer computer is now running two WUs simultaneously, and that\'s because it is a duel-core Pentium D CPU of 3.4 GH, and 3.5 MB of RAM. What\'s bothering me is, the older computer states in the Disk tab that it is using 458.76 GB of HD space, whereby the newer computer is only displaying 1.17 GB on each of the two WUs it\'s running (simultaneously to boot!). Also, the older computer often displays the message that it cannot do certain things as that computer is overcommited. Both computers use the maximum of 100% CPU usage according to the Task Manager, and according to the latter I appear to have ample RAM installed in both units. Can you explain whether I\'ve anything to be concerned about?

I would have preferred to contact the BBC Climate Change Experiment about these problems, but as with your own web-site I find it extremely difficult to navigate them both in order to get on-line support, and much could be done to address this issue. To save me searching for your reply on the two problems I\'ve mentioned, I trust you\'ll do so using my e-mail address which is crombie101240@gas2004.wanadoo.co.uk, assuming you decide to answer, that is.

458.76 GB of HD space

Are you sure that\'s GB not MB? It certainly shouldn\'t be using half a terabyte of disk space (would need about 1000 crashed models to manage that, or alternatively 1 model in \'recording\' mode...), and also drives of this size are unlikely to be present on older machines. 458MB would make much more sense given the usual size of a single model.

\'Overcommitted\' means that Boinc doesn\'t think it\'s going to be able to complete the model before the \'deadline\' - however the deadline is ignored here anyway, so no problem. It can also be caused if the system clock gets reset (back to 1980 or whatever, which happens if the CMOS battery runs out of juice).

I would strongly recommend against posting your email address publicly, the addresses will be harvested by \'spam spiders\' and used as a destination for more junk mail.
