I had some adventures with my laptop and the manufacturer recently. Three trips to the shop for three different issues, all in two weeks. The last one they just wiped the HD and all my data. Yeah, I know. Thing is, I have a work unit that was in progress, and it\'s gone, and the site is just telling me that it\'s still \"in progress\" I\'m running a new workunit now, and things are working okay, but I just want to tell someone to close out that other workunit, so that it\'s not sitting there waiting a year just to get nothing. So, who can I tell?

When the server hasn\'t heard from a model for a few weeks, it\'s automatically labeled as lost, and marked for re-issue.

Thanks.. I hoped it was something like that.

I don\'t think that feature is working for older workunits. I have a work unit whose last trickle (the tenth trickle) was 12 Sep 2005 and it\'s still marked as running. Result # 165616

It would be nice if there was a way for the trickle message to include a list of all CPDN workunits on the machine so some don\'t get lost.

It won\'t get marked on a person\'s account page as \'no longer running\' until the one year deadline. e.g. your model: 818028, which shows as: No reply.

You have to go to the \"Work unit ID\" page to see if it has been re-issued.
And this won\'t happen now with slab and sulphur models, as they are obsolete.

Thank you for clarifying that. I had lightning fry 2 computers (yes, they were on UPSs) and had a disk go bad on a third so it\'s been an interesting time getting all my BOINC projects straightened out.

Thanks,

Commiserations, David.
I only have a power board with surge protectors on each outlet. And my fingers mentally crossed.

You\'ve definitely been \"fighting through thick and thin\" to keep going!
