During the summer, my study, where my main computer lives, gets quite hot. Even though my CPU and system fans are well specced, they struggle to keep my CPU at a reasonable temperature when the room temperature in in the 30s (C) and BOINC is exercising both cores full out! I would like automatically to be able to drop back to only using a single core or even to pause BOINC altogether between (say) 10:00 and 18:00 local time. I can\'t see any way of doing this except manually changing profiles at the relevant times, which isn\'t feasible. I am currently only running Climate Prediction models, and I have found instructions to run the \"standalone\" cpdn service on a timed basis. Am I going to have to switch? |

Under Your Account, and General Preferences is the option of: Do work only between the hours of Set this to 18:00-10:00, and between 10:00-18:00 no processing will be done. |

Under Your Account, and General Preferences is the option of: Ah! I had not realised that the times could cross midnight - I had assumed that the start time had to be before the stop time (in a normal midnight to midnight 24-hr day). |
