After upgrading to BOINC 5.4.9 I can no longer install BOINC as a service. The boinc_cli.exe file is no longer present anywhere I can see so the old command \"boinc_cli.exe -install\" will not work. I can find no new documentation on this. How do I install the service with the new version? Do I have to completely uninstall and reinstall BOINC?? If so that\'s kind of inefficient. With the old BOINC I could run the service install command at any time. I like being able to run either way - either as a service when the computer is unattended or in graphical mode when I\'m checking out the climate model.

Have 5.4.9 on only one machine but it does have a boinc app. \'boinccmd\' CLI. Have you tried that?

I tried that. I ran it from the Boinc directory but I get a message that says, \"connect: no error can\'t connect to local host\" no matter what parameters I pass to it. I can\'t even get the help screen to come up (if there is one).

We\'ve encountered the can\'t-connect-to-localhost thing with earlier boinc versions and it was supposedly fixed in this version (by adding ports). Don\'t know what else to tell you because I don\'t use CLI in Windoze (not even in Linux since boinc 5.*) or run as service. Sorry. There are more technically-competent folks on the Boards, though, so please hang in there.

I also realized another problem - my stats are NOT updating at all since upgrading. I\'m stuck at 78135 and it never moves. The status line is blank. There are no error messages. Same problem with my other two computers I upgraded, one running Seti and the other Climateprediction. NO updates at all.

I\'ve had it with this \"upgrade\"! I\'m uninstalling it and reinstalling 4.45 which was working perfectly.

Climate servers are having problems with Trickles. Read the Number Crunching Forum. Toku has written in there.

Coupled Model doesn\'t get along well with 4.*. Might be useful to try 5.2.13, I\'ve not had trouble with it.
