07/07/2006 20:30:53|climateprediction.net|Message from server: Not enough disk space (only 25259.7 MB free for BOINC). Review preferences for maximum disk percentage used.

I re-attached \'cause I was apparently using the wrong URL (New one on me, been fine for yonks), reset the project, and upped my percentage to 95% (I wanna use this pc for other stuff too!). Still getting the same message.

Any ideas?
TIA
Steve

OK, just spotted a couple of similar posts (had board preferences on most answered first, D\'Oh!). Seems like I have 383 results stacked up for this PC, all it would seem from today. So, how do I drop this lot? Would they go away if I detached from the project for a bit?

Hi, might be a good idea to set \'no more work\' against the project on that PC, sounds like it\'s manager has gone bananas.

If you were to \'unhide\' the computers on your account, then we\'d be able to look at the results downloaded, but not sure how much we\'d learn. I do have a question though - did you get a new host ID for each of the 383 models?

Unhid computers, but you may not learn much, as you said. What I\'ve done is detach that pc from the project. I may have to wait 30 days, but I\'m hoping that it\'ll assume I\'ve \"gone away\" and reasign the workunits elsewhere. AFAIK I got the same host ID, but 390 units on a 20-per-page list is a bit of a slog to go through - I gave up after the first 100 units....

The problem is not the server thinking you have those models, but the possiblity that they left some trash on your hard drive. In the BOINC/CPDN folder there are subfolders for each model on your computer. Any that do not have a matching entry in the BOINC manager can be deleted.

Hi SMacB,

Thanks for that, you\'re right, not much to learn! My first theory was that you were getting a new host ID each time you connected, hence the limit on daily downloads wouldn\'t be relevant. Since there are only two hosts listed, that theory was obviously wrong.

But I\'ve since discovered that it seems to be a general problem, several other people have had the same problem today. So not your PCs fault... from what I can gather, the PCs aren\'t downloading anything, just being allocated huge numbers of work units in the database.

If you\'re only running the one project, I would shut down boinc for a day or so to let Carl and Tolu sort out the server.

I\'m sure they\'ll be able to identify the duff workunits, so shouldn\'t be a major issue in the long run.

Hi all,
Thanks for your replies. Had a looksee at the CPDN folder in my BIONC program folder. It\'s empty. In trying to figure this out it seems that each time I\'ve updated the project I\'ve been allocated a new workunit, currently now at 414. Other projects I\'m running seem to be problem free, so my guess is it\'s not a problem my end, I have another PC running CPDN without issue, although I did note that the stats graph reset itself yesterday.
Best course of action, probably to shut down that particular project and hope it sorts itself out in the next few weeks.....

This problem seems to be fixed now. However, the WUs are still apparently assigned to our computers. See the No work thread for more info.
