Hi,

I have recently restarted taking part in cpdn and have upgraded to the latest client on my Windows machine. Every time that I run it, however, I get reached daily quota of 2 results.

Having browsed through the forums a bit I see that I should supply you with my computer ID which is 191467 to help fix this.

If you could point me in the direction of how I can go about fixing my client I would be most grateful!

Thanks,

Hi Rhas, welcome to the forum.

Over the last couple of days the server has tried to download to you 2 models per day and the downloads have failed. These models show error code 200 (exit code -186) which means a download error. I have no personal experience of this, but am quoting some ideas for a fix from another forum:

The problem starts where it says Incomplete read of less than 5KB for rosetta_5.25_windows_intelx86.exe - truncating, an incomplete file cannot match the checksum.

Sounds like an ISP line problem (might be HD full too though).

Are there any other problems loading web pages from the Rosetta server, like incomplete images, broken pages or so?

Another possible reason would be that a virus scanner kicks in while the download is running. The way BOINC opens files does not allow read access by other programs while BOINC has planned to write to those files.

Disallowing the virus scanner to check the BOINC directory with all its subdirectories might help in this case.

The post is about a Rosetta workunit, but the problem is the same.

When you get a new model to download, you need to think about avoiding -161 errors, of which you\'ve previously had a few. Mike\'s post suggests lots of ideas:

You\'re still using BOINC 4.45, and the new models need a 5.* version for downloads/uploads to work.

Thanks guys for your help. That is weird as I downloaded the latest client and installed it.

I\'ll completely uninstall it, remove all traces of BOINC and see what happens.

We\'ve heard from other people with the same problem (core client is still 4.x after installing 5.x) - I think the key is to uninstall 4.x first.

Hello again

I have done a complete reinstall now and it looks like it is working. However, I think our Proxy is causing problems now so I have turned it off until I can get that working.

Thanks again for your help!
