Could someone point me to a procedure to migrate BOINC to a new disk, without starting over on my current work unit? Running BOINC/CPDN as a service on Windows XP. I need to free up disk space on the C: drive, and would like to make use of extra space on new disk drive. But CPDN work units are looooong, and I dont want to lose work completed to date. Any suggestions? -- Thanks, Brian W, Fort Collins, Colorado |

Suspend /Exit in usual way. Uninstall BOINC. Move (or Copy, until you know it\'s safe), the BOINC folder to the new location. Re-install BOINC. This should take care of anything in the registry. There have been reports of problems with the big 10 year uploads after a move, but I\'m fairly sure that that\'s because BOINC was also moved, instead of being re-installed. This is one of those times when backups become important. |
