Okay I have had a read through the threads and can\'t really find the answer I need. My screen saver will not work any more at all. I know you shouldn\'t run the screensaver but I like it. I have not suspended the project and Boinc is set to my preferences which is set to run after 3 minutes of no activity. Messages tell me that “Suspending network activity - user is activeâ€. The computer was NOT being used. can someone help? Was working fine this morning but all day I ahev been trying to fix. |

This has been reported before, but mostly on the BOINC boards. I think that it\'s a BOINC problem. Which version of BOINC do you have, and how is it installed? (Single user, Shared, or Service) edit I found this thread, but I\'m sure there have been others. Note the 2nd post, where it\'s mentioned that the video chip can cause the problem. |

Okay version is 5.4.9 and as a single user. This morning when I came in the screen saver was again working, so maybe it is taking forver to kick in, which is also very very strange as it used to come on after a couple of minutes. Not sure if I have changed anything by accident in trying to fix it. I think maybe it\'s a windows thing. I can\'t even get a standard screensaver to kick in now. Ohhh nooooooo, I am so computer stupid |

What is the time interval set for in Windows screen saver? (In the control panel) I vaguely remember something about this value having to be greater than the BOINC Prefs setting, or the other way around. Perhaps this is the problem. |

Yep, had a play with that overnight and it dosen\'t seem to make a difference either way. it is still doing the 20minute thing. My guess is it\'s a network thing. Anyway thanks for your help and I guess I will have to live with it until I can find a way to hack around our network preferences. |
