On the BOINC tasks tab there is one command \'cancel project\' or so (have the German version, so don\'t know the exact phrase) which is just below the \'temporary suspend\' or \'stop\' button. I am quite anxious not to click on the wrong button by accident after my project has been running for 2000 hours. Can anyone reassure me that I get asked whether I really want to give up on the project?

Thanks,

Daniel

I don\'t know what is in the latest version, but project related action SHOULD be in the Projects tab.
Those in the Tasks tab SHOULD all relate to an individual work unit. (Or model, for this project.)

In my version, 5.2.8, there are 3 buttons in Tasks, and the last is Abort, which is instantly fatal for the currently selected WU.

And don\'t forget to make regular backups of your work. It\'s a long way to the end.
See this thread.

It does not confirm. It does exactly what it says. It cancels / aborts the unit. So, do not play with that button.

Yes, button number 3 in Tasks kills the model, wird die Modelle sofort und unglücklicherweise töten. Some people need this option because they have extra models they don\'t want.

Are you backing your model up? If not, we can give you instructions.

I strongly recommend you to do a regular backup of the entire Program Files\\BOINC folder. This will allow you to restore your model if anything happens to it.

Note that the CPDN task should *not* be running when taking the backup. (Toolbar -> Activity -> Suspend.

Dann kannst du einfach dein BOINC Verzeichnis irgendwo sichern, damit du nix verlierst wenn mal was schiefgeht.
