Message 24815 - Posted: 21 Oct 2006, 3:11:32 UTC

I am on windows XP and have been running climate prediction for a year. I now show project \"ready to report\" cpu time= 1022.22 and under transfers I have a blank screen. I am also running SETI and have the same problem there. \"update\" does not fix it. When I try to log in to BOINC it does not know my email.
Any suggestions?

When I try to log in to BOINC it does not know my email.

Could you explain this please?
Do you mean this site?

Do you have any messages about can\'t contact the server? (or words to that effect.)

Les A bit more detail, I can come to the climate site and log in but when I go to the BOINC site and try to log in it does not recognise my curent email nor others I have used over the past 7 years when I started working with SETI.

All the sites are separate. There is no shared user database.

Your log looks wierd, very odd indeed, repeats itself a number of times...

What happens in the log if you press the \'update\' button on the first tab in the manager?

Henry,

It looks like you pasted the log 6 times.

The issue I see is you have clicked on a certain task in the manager. You have this in your log:
10/21/2006 7:48:19 AM||Suspending network activity - user request

Try and go to the Activity menu and make sure that Network Activity is not set to suspended (set to run based on preferences or run always).

Thanks, Yes the log indicates suspended but when I go to theProject tab under status it says \"Schedudler request pending\" and if I highlight climate and suspend and then resume nothing changes.

Hi, Henry,

I think PoohBear means to go to the Manager\'s Activity tab and click either \"Network activity always available\" or \"Network activity based on preferences\". It should take off immediately.

Edit: Another possibility is that, for whatever reason, boinc lost a path to the Internet. Do you see \"Connected to localhost\" on the bottom bar when the Manager is displayed?

Thanks Astro and PoohBear, It took off. It was mindbogeling to me. My computer will enjoy having something to chew on when I am not keeping it bussy.
Henry where we woke this morning thit may of the hillsides having turned white overnight. Still have very green grass and some bright leaves left. Quite a show.
