Hi, I seem to have a problem connecting the CPDN-server. The log shows: 22-10-2006 10:45:21||Starting BOINC client version 4.43 for windows_intelx86 22-10-2006 10:45:21||Data directory: D:\\Users\\BOINC 22-10-2006 10:45:22|climateprediction.net|Computer ID: 246784; location: home; project prefs: default 22-10-2006 10:45:22|rosetta@home|Computer ID: 66178; location: home; project prefs: default 22-10-2006 10:45:22||General prefs: from rosetta@home (last modified 2005-11-19 12:08:15) 22-10-2006 10:45:22||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 22-10-2006 10:45:22||Remote control not allowed; using loopback address 22-10-2006 10:45:22|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result sulphur_j5ki_000893682_0 using sulphur_cycle version 4.22 22-10-2006 10:45:22|climateprediction.net|Resuming computation for result sulphur_ia1g_200852820_0 using sulphur_cycle version 4.22 22-10-2006 10:45:22|climateprediction.net|Deferring computation for result hadcm3lbm_aku1_05262828_0 22-10-2006 10:45:22|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 4 days, 2 hours, 1 minutes, and 43 seconds 22-10-2006 10:45:22||May run out of work in 0.10 days; requesting more 22-10-2006 10:45:22||schedule_cpus: must schedule 22-10-2006 11:45:22||schedule_cpus: time 3600.093750 22-10-2006 11:45:23|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 4 days, 1 hours, 1 minutes, and 42 seconds 22-10-2006 11:59:47||request_reschedule_cpus: project op 22-10-2006 11:59:47||schedule_cpus: must schedule 22-10-2006 12:00:02||Can\'t resolve hostname [climateprediction.net] valid name, no data record of requested type 22-10-2006 12:00:02|climateprediction.net|Couldn\'t read master page for climateprediction.net: error -113 22-10-2006 12:00:02|climateprediction.net|Master file fetch failed 22-10-2006 12:00:02|climateprediction.net|Deferring communication with project for 1 weeks, 6 days, 2 hours, 59 minutes, and 24 seconds This is the case for days now. Have you rebooted your PC within the 6 days? It sounds like your DNS cache still holds the old address (it changed a few days ago). I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

You may want to upgrade to the newest Boinc CC. 5.x.x BOINC Wiki |

Good idea to upgrade. Be sure to use Windoze Add/Remove feature to remove boinc 4.22 first. There was a major change in that version number sequence and failure to un-install would result in parts of the old version trashing the folder. After you have 5.4.9 installed, it should not be necessary remove the old before installing a newer version. Just wondering - why do I see 5.4.9 so often mentioned in this forum, when 5.4.11 has been available for several months now? |

5.4.11 was only to fix a problem with new tactic used by one brand of AV. Most people probably haven\'t bothered with it, and are still on 5.4.9 |

Pleased to see it Frederique. Best of luck -- and please remember backups. Pwillener: Another reason is that 5.4.9 is what people get if they download through the CPDN Board; it\'s necessary to go to boinc site to get 5.4.11. (Last weekend, the last of my machines was [finally] upgraded from 5.2.13 to 5.4.9. [Surprisingly, only one of my machines comes up with occasional reminders that a newer version is available, 5.4.11; none of the others do that.) Thanks for the replies on 5.4.9 vs. 5.4.11 - all clear now. (I always downloaded from http://boinc.berkeley.edu/download.php, and there are only release notes for 5.4). |

One of the upload servers at Oxford has run out of space. Just let BOINC keep retrying, while the Oxford people work on the problem. |

Thanks. I\'ll send an email or PM to Milo (if that Forum is available, it wasn\'t yesterday), though he should have received notification from the server. Your upload should have gone successfully to the next server on the list. The file hadcm3ohc_2ar5_05655608_1_1.zip has been transfered. The Trickle-up still working. The main web site WWW.climateprediction.net is still down. Thanks JT |

I think they\'re doing maintenance work on the server at the Open University in Milton Keynes. That\'s where the phpBB forum is hosted. But the trickles go to a different server in Oxford. The Oxford servers all seem to be running even if one did run out of space for a while. Cpdn news |
