Hi there,

I need to rebuild my laptop in the next 24 hours. I don\'t want to lose the months of processing and the BOINC files. Ideally, I am hoping someone can tell me the exact files that need to be archived, where I can then reformat my C-drive, reinstall BOINC, and then drop in my old files to resume processing.

Thanks in advance,
David

- Stop CPDN & boinc.
- Uninstall boinc with Windoze Add/Remove facility (won\'t delete your CPDN work)
- Zip the entire boinc Folder and save to CD/DVD.
- Format the drive
- When ready, restore & un-Zip the boinc Folder. (It was zipped to speed save/restore time and to preclude necessity of resetting the Read-only flags which happen if not Zipped.)
- Install boinc. (This reestablishes the Registry settings.)

Note: If you have plenty of disk space, making a separate partition for CPDN works well. (I give it 14-20 Gig, depending on HD size, which allows plenty of working space, plenty of space for two or more cycles of backups, and plenty of space to save any crashes for investigation; it also allows for possible new CPDN versions. [You wouldn\'t need that much but I think, to keep Windoze from getting twitchy, I\'d give it no less than six Gig.]) The real beauty is that the small dedicated partition Defrags quickly, usually in less than a minute.

Best of luck.
