I\'ve got 2 old puters in my account that I don\'t/can\'t use any more. Unfortunately I only have the option to merge my puters, but not to delete them. Here they are:
And none but the linux one is crunching any more. I\'ve got no results/WUs connected to them any more that are not either expired or finished or crushed, so deletion should be possible. But it isn\'t :( How do I get rid of this useless data? Grüße vom Sänger |

As I replied in the \"Getting Started\" forum: I believe it is because the units never get \"validated\", so the delete option will never show. This project is very different from other projects, they do not purge out the old units, they stay in the online database. I am unsure they use a master database like other projects do, so they can not purge the data, so they do not validate it, which means it will never allow a machine to be deleted. Merging is fine, because the data will move to the merged machine, but no deleting. |

Additional to Pooh Bear\'s post: If a computer has a model recorded for it, then it can\'t be deleted. If the specs for two computers are different, they can\'t be merged. |

Additional to Pooh Bear\'s post: So, the gist of it: I\'m stuck with this old stuff, no way to get rid of it. I think I will be able to live with it ;) Grüße vom Sänger |

Yes, you are stuck. After further research, I am correct in that this project does not use a master database, so the online database is the master database. So the computers will never be deletable. Also as Les stated (thank you Les) if the machines are different even sometimes slightly, they usually can not be merged. I have a pretty old machine I no longer use on CPDN, I live with it staying on my account. I am proud it finished an old Slab model. |
