Anything wrong, or a way to recover the 3 months time of calculation ? Anything wrong: Making a guess, because you have your computers hidden, the 30% model probably crashed, and has been replaced by a new model. way to recover: Only from a backup made BEFORE the crash, as per the link in my sig, and also in the Backup sticky on the php board. There are lots of hints and tips in the 4 README files here. Backups: Here |

I didn\'t make any backup. So I have no way to recover. I despair to succeed the processing of a whole model ! |

Hi, It\'s not necessary to complete a whole model, since a summary of the climate is uploaded at each model year, a more detailed summary each 10 years, and finally a full restart dump is uploaded every 40 years (1960, 2000 and 2040). But it\'s good to do as much as you can :-) I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

It would be better if you changed your preferences to let us see your computer. This would allow us to see possible reasons for the model crash and offer more specific advice. Cpdn news |

Still hidden. Must be the problem we\'re having getting Preferences changed and returned to our machines. Would you please post the Machine ID# from line seven of Messages? "We have met the enemy and he is us." -- Pogo Greetings from coastal Washington state, the scenic US Pacific Northwest. |

Computer specs look good, no problems, but I did notice something odd in the error log. Some sort of disk or filehandle problem? (maybe temporary?) You\'re not trying to use a network drive for this per chance? It doesn\'t work for this project, because of the very high data rates. |

I\'m not trying to use a network drive. The issue doesn\'t seem to be in relation with a particular event or use of my pc. I stop running climateprediction for a while and i will restart after understand and test backing up. You\'re not trying to use a network drive for this per chance? |

I usually back up the entire BOINC folder once a week. It has two or three times in the past saved a crashed model. |
