Hi all,
Sorry to bother you but since 10 days the model has stopped doing anything, it is stuck at 80,045% and I so do not wish to restart it, it has taken more than 10 months to get here! Since yesterday it was taking up around 50% of my CPU so I thought it was moving on, but today it has completely stopped.
I am running BOINC 5.4.11 on Windows XP. With:
Processor: 2 GenuineIntelIntel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz
Memory: 511.48 MB physical, 1.22 GB virtual
Disk: 39.06 GB total, 23.56 GB free
I have absolutely no idea what to do and where to check!
THANKS
MariLiza

No errors to be seen but the machine downloaded six Models today, four of which indicate \"Over\" but no other indications. The last two Models seemed to be in progress. Then, another image of the machine appeared with two more Models. The last two appear to be running.

You can merge the two images of the computer in your Preferences, if you want.

I recommend you use the \'reply to this thread\' link on the lower-left, rather than the \'reply to this post\' on the lower-right. This is because \'reply to this post\' copies in the entire contents of the previous post.

Hi MikeMarsUK,
Sorry about that, quite embarassing really.. I was just asking AstroWX what he meant with the \"You can merge the two images of the computer in your Preferences, if you want\" recommendation.
Other than that, Boinc crashed totally yesterday so I un-installed and re-installed and I am afraid that all the number crunching from May onwards has been lost. I have new jobs running now, let\'s hope!
THANKS

Go to Your Account, on left of this page, and click on Computers on... View, click on Computer ID then, at bottom of the page, Click to merge. You\'ll be given self-evident options to merge the machine IDs. (It always keeps the newest one.)

Edit: Your work wasn\'t wasted. The Models upload global summaries at the end of each year, a lot more every ten years, and a full restart dump every 40 years.

At some future time we\'ll probably be able to finish those Runs (though not necessarily our own failures). We tested the code (last Winter after Spinups, if I recall correctly) but it wasn\'t stable enough for prime time -- and there\'s been too much other work for the team get back to that effort.

What to do, if that does not work?

I don\'t want to be difficult, but could you please stop posting about this problem on every thread about it.

I seem to recall that someone worked around it by altering the description somewhere, possibly in client_state.xml

Using the search facility may find the post, but I don\'t remember on which project I saw it.
