Hi all and Happy New Year, My most recent model (http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/result.php?resultid=5640867) crashed a few days ago, but since then BOINC hasn\'t downloaded any new work from cpdn. When I hit the Update Project button I get: 02/01/2007 20:06:19|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request to http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc_cgi/cgi 02/01/2007 20:06:19|climateprediction.net|Reason: Requested by user 02/01/2007 20:06:19|climateprediction.net|(not requesting new work or reporting completed tasks) 02/01/2007 20:06:23|climateprediction.net|Scheduler request succeeded My start-up messages are as follows: 02/01/2007 20:06:06||Starting BOINC client version 5.4.11 for windows_intelx86 02/01/2007 20:06:06||libcurl/7.15.3 OpenSSL/0.9.8a zlib/1.2.3 02/01/2007 20:06:06||Data directory: E:\\Program Files\\BOINC 02/01/2007 20:06:06||Processor: 1 GenuineIntel Intel(R) Celeron(R) CPU 2.40GHz 02/01/2007 20:06:06||Memory: 2.00 GB physical, 2.60 GB virtual 02/01/2007 20:06:06||Disk: 55.89 GB total, 5.31 GB free 02/01/2007 20:06:06|climateprediction.net|URL: http://climateprediction.net/; Computer ID: 5000; location: home; project prefs: default 02/01/2007 20:06:06|SETI@home|URL: http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/; Computer ID: 152931; location: home; project prefs: default 02/01/2007 20:06:06||General prefs: from SETI@home (last modified 2006-06-04 13:46:36) 02/01/2007 20:06:06||General prefs: no separate prefs for home; using your defaults 02/01/2007 20:06:07||Local control only allowed 02/01/2007 20:06:07||Listening on port 31416 Resource share is currently set to 50-50 between SETI (which is churning away happily), and cpdn. Disk: 55.89 GB total, 5.31 GB free First off, it looks like you have many old models that could be cleaned up. These numbers suggest that CPDN thinks there may not be enough hard drive space for another model. Check your E:\\Program Files\\BOINC climate directory and see if you do have old models that can be cleaned up. Then check your account settings, under General Preferences, and make sure you allow enough room under \"Leave at least\" & \"Use no more than\". Hope this helps. |

Thanks. I\'ve deleted all the old models (all the sub-folders in the climateprediction.net directory with the workunit names, right?) and tidied up some other stuff, such that I now have 10 Gb free. My current preferences are set to use no more than 50% of total disk space, and to leave at least 5 Gb free. Current combined usage of cpdn and SETI is <500 Mb. And it\'s still not downloading anything... |

My current preferences are set to use no more than 50% of total disk space, and to leave at least 5 Gb free. Current combined usage of cpdn and SETI is <500 Mb. 50% of 56G is only 28G, since you are less than that, you will not get any work. |

50% of 56G is only 28G, since you are less than that, you will not get any work. OK. But the setting is to use no more than 28G. If BOINC is only using 500M, then, in theory, BOINC could use up another 27.5G before approaching this limit. If I have 10G free and my preference is to leave 5G free, then I have taken that to mean that BOINC has 5G to play with. |

I think I see the problem - poking around in my client_state.xml file, I can see the following: <long_term_debt>-356643.311522</long_term_debt> I\'m guessing that means cpdn \"owes\" 100 hours of processing time to SETI. They were alternating quite happily up until the model failed - does long term debt only kick in after a complete run, perhaps? |

The Wiki entry for Long Term Debt. PS I believe that some of these factors have changed over \'recent\' versions of BOINC, so LTD is possibly \'version dependent\'. |
