It may be to do with \"time owed\" to SETI by cpdn.
And you will only get 2 climate models per day while your computer keeps crashing them.

There seems to be something wrong with your computer, but I don\'t know what.
The error messages show that the crash occurs after \"Retrieved the required desktop\", whatever that means.

If you are talking Scripps Predictor, that project has been closed for months, and is just starting to reopen, but only under Linux and Mac. Windows side is still awhile off. Go to their site and read what the changes are.

Todd, you shouldn\'t be turning your firewall off to get a new model unless you\'re behind a router or have the XP Windows Defender firewall enabled.

Isn\'t this message \'Retrieved the required desktop\' something to do with whether Todd is using the computer with full Administrator rights?

If the button in the Projects tab says Get/Fetch new work, click it. If it says No new work, leave it as it is.

Could you please copy for us the contents of your boinc manager Messages tab.

Task hadcm3pbb_bdf9_05804688_0 exited with zero status but no \'finished\' file

This is mostly an informational error. It means that something took over the processor for a while, and so the unit resets back to the last checkpoint. Things that cause this to happen are the screen saver (the 3D screen savers can be rough on a machine, especially with shared video memory, weak video cards, etc.), Windows updating itself with a Time Server, AntiVirus scan, other scans (spyware, defrag, etc.).

It may be beneficial to stop using the BOINC screen saver and move to something non-3D, or better yet shut off the screen. Change AntiVirus programs to ignore the BOINC folder. Shut off the Time Sync in Windows, etc.

Same Problem

I am also having a similar problem. After running BOINC since early January successfully, it has suddenly hit a snag. I tried to change my preferences to allow it to run even when I am active on the computer, but all I get is \"scheduler request pending\". I have not changed anything, but it never gets its\' new preferences.

Can anyone help?

Thank you in advance

Jeanne

I have had Bionic for years now and for some reason Seti@home works fine but Climate Prediction and Predictor does not get work units.Predictor quit weeks ago and Climate Prediction never worked .All I get is Scheduler Request Pending and the Communication Differed for weeks.
My fire wall is set right and I even disabled it still same results. The problem is in the Bionic software or the server where I get the work units.
Any ideas?

After you change your preferences in your account, you need to click the Update button in your boinc manager.

Thank you, mo.v. I had done that, of course, which is why I had the \"scheduler request pending\" message. However, after a few hours it did update all by itself with no further action on my part. I am not certain what caused the hiccup, but it is resolved now.

Thank you for trying to help me out with this. I appreciate it.

There have been a few problems with the server since Friday, which maybe explains things.
