Hello. I\'m not sure why I got the following error or what to do about it. The progress on the task was around 26, 27% complete. The computer I\'m running the project on has 4 CPUs, so there are 3 other tasks, and they are all still running ok. Here is a paste of the relivant section of my log file. What am I susposed to do? This is the error: Model crashed: umshell1.f: P_TH_ADJ : NEGATIVE PRESSURE VALUE CREATED. GA [Edit: You can see the error posted for the Run by clicking through from your name on the left side of your post ... to the Run ID -- or following Your Account/Computers/etc. The -161 \"errors\" in the Messages is simply boinc indicating that it tried to upload empty files. ] I\'ve had about seven of these on five different dual-core boxes, ranging from 29% to 97%. Tried to rerun four from backup and all failed again at (about?) the same point. I no longer recommend reruns from backup for Negative Pressure or Negative theta crashes -- unless the machine is running hot or is unstable for whatever reason (such as over-ambitious overclocking). I doubt any of that applies to your machine, so I\'d simply \"bite the bullet\" and hope for better luck next time. Carl posted that he thinks a batch of Models had some parameter sets at the margins of stability and, consequently, the assigned parameters push the limits of physical possibility. Actually, this is valuable information to the researchers. (I think it was Dave Frame who posted a few years ago that the odd results can be more valuable than the ones that come in on the averages.) Thanks for the info. As far as the computer goes, yea I\'m not doing any over clocking or anything like that. Too bad the project crashed, but hopefully the information gathered from the crash is still useful. Thanks for replying to my message. ~Anthony |
