I\'ve been reading threads about this where I can find them, and there seems to be multiple causes to this. I just want to confirm my initial understanding of the following log:

As I see it, since the first entry says \"computation for task finished\", it failed due to a model issue and not my computer. Right? This one was about 30% complete according to BOINC when it failed on me overnight.

Thanks,

I also see this in the results ID.

Hi,

It could be either the PC or the model - basically if the model climate becomes physically impossible, you get these errors (NEGATIVE THETA or NEGATIVE PRESSURE).

To find out which of the two it was (PC or model), run Prime95\'s torture test for around 24 hours. If it passes, that indicates that the PC was stable, and the problem lies with the model.

What I find a little odd is the change in the speed of the model recently, from 1.425s/ts to 1.53 at the most recent trickle, which is often a sign of PC instability (or, alternatively, that the model is running on a different PC to the one it started on).
I'm a volunteer and my views are my own.

Yes, I had to move the model from one PC to another when I lost a cruncher. That is why you see the change. Thanks Mike,

I will try the torture test.
