I\'d like to run CPDN but my machine is below the minimum requirements. Is this important?

126 Megs is barely enough to run the operating system, let alone programs as well.
It\'s highly recommended that you upgrade to at least 512 Megs. Everything will run much better.
These days, 1 Gig is considered a good idea, and 2 Gigs for running Vista.

There will be a spare second memory slot for an extra RAM card - not very expensive. Putting it in could be a do-it-yourself job for you or a friend. No need to install or reformat anything; you just fit it into the slot and go.

Until you get extra RAM, I\'d recommend disabling the screensaver to reduce the work the computer has to do and speed things up. Make sure you only run a HADSM model as the HADCM type needs more memory.

And everybody should make regular backups of the whole boinc folder in case the model crashes; the backup can be restored and continued.

I ran a 160-year HADCM model on a 1.3 GHz computer ie slower CPU than yours, but it had 512Mb RAM.
