I may be having a problem with BOINC. This recently appeared for cp.n as well as two other projects I am running. 12/20/2007 12:03:05 PM|climateprediction.net|Resuming task hadcm3iozn_cpyo_2000_80_45899417_2 using hadcm3i version 544 12/20/2007 3:43:19 PM|climateprediction.net|Sending scheduler request: To send trickle-up message. Is this a problem or is it a false alarm? I searched the fora for \'zero status\' but found nothing. My current task has 1033 hours accumulated with 527 to go. I am running BOINC 5.10.28 and (as indicated above) hadcm3i version 544 Thanks. |

Leave it alone. That is a warning message and is usually benign. It happens if there is a large shift in time (like when the clock gets updated), or a number of other weird things. The warning is mostly harmless unless you are getting it a lot, then the suggestion is set to no new work, when the model finishes, reset (or upgrade to the newer version 5.10.30 which has been released and may fixed some of these warnings). |

It is mentioned in passing in the README posts (link in my sig), as Pooh Bear says it is \'mostly harmless\'. The readmes are worth browsing through - they are basically links to particularly useful threads on the forums. I'm a volunteer and my views are my own. News and Announcements and FAQ |

Do I set to \"no new work\" in the BOINC client on my computer or is that done in a preferences area on a BOINC related website? Leave it alone. That is a warning message and is usually benign. No new work/tasks is in the Projects tab of your BOINC manager. It\'s a toggle, and it\'s label changes when you click it. |

I may be having a problem with BOINC. This recently appeared for cp.n as well as two other projects I am running. About 25 originating messages below your first post, you should find a thread of 22 messages on the same topic \"Task ... exited with zero status but no \'finished\' file\". If your computer\'s mainboard has an NVidia nForce 2 chipset, then the last four or five (?) messages of the 22 will be of particular interest to you, as they were to me; in that case, you don\'t really need to read all of the messages before them, but they have some useful information such as how to use \"checkpoints\" to diagnose problems. Yeah, the \"search\" feature for this forum (among others) has never produced anything worthwhile for me as well. | | --- Stardance | | nil carborundum illegitimi |
