no, the beta credits should have "come back" since I merged with one of my backups. |

Some of my Credits Came Back Carl, about 850 of them...But I'm still short somewhere but I don't know how much or where it would be...I was over 10,400 Credits early yesterday and have turned in Results since then but I only show 9981 Credits now...So theres still a loss somewhere... My granted credits add up to what my Total credits show on my Stats page so the only thing I can think of is a WU got lost somewhere...??? I'm not that worried about it though Carl, heck I'm happy to get the 850 back at least... :) |

More credit should be taken away from you! Otherwise you would have to change your name to "RichBoy". 8-)) |

It looks like all my credit has come back as well , and that includes a merged machine that was also part of the beta test (the merge only being done in the last few days). So it does look like your restore has done the trick :) Shady |

The first three machines in the top computers list look really weird if you look at <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/top_hosts.php?sort_by=expavg_credit">their Recent Average Credit</a> (RAC) & the <a href="http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/top_users.php?sort_by=expavg_credit">top participants by RAC</a> is also skewed by the same figures - so something's still amiss somewhere, heh one of them's a Win98 machine. <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/"><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=6&team=off&trans=off"></a> |

well the recent average credit is from the boinc "half-life" so I imagine they trickled in the middle. I really consider the "total credit" to be the "real deal", and the recent average credit will balance out to more sensible numbers as the days go on. |

I guess odd RACs will even up fairly quickly but how did the guy get a <b>Win98</b> machine to even trickle..? <a href="http://www.nmvs.dsl.pipex.com/"><img src="http://boinc.mundayweb.com/cpdn/stats.php?userID=6&team=off&trans=off"></a> |

I've seen some 98 & ME's work but eventually you fill up the small console and it will crash. |

The first time credit is granted it has no starting point and often comes up with some huge numbers. It will come down to more normal levels quickly though. <br>John Keck -- BOINCing since 2002/12/08 -- <a href="http://www.boinc.dk/index.php?page=user_statistics&project=cpdn&userid=191"><img border="0" height="80" src="http://191.cpdn.sig.boinc.dk?188"></a> |

Again, I lost well over 10,000 credits. I have only recovered maybe 4,000 at best. With so many people having lost credits, climateprediction.net should have posted something about it. Remember, there are a lot of other projects out there that I can donate my computer's time to, and if you don't care, then I don't. I have two on line now, w/two sitting on the the side waiting for memory. I also must note, that emailing climateprediction.net about this issue resulted in no response to date. |

well I posted about 30 times regarding this problem, and ran corrections. You are not "wasting your computer's time" --- only if your main driving force is "Cobblestones" I guess. I merged credits from old beta tests which is where most of the losses were. Do you think you are still missing thousands of credits? From the trickle information your numbers seem right. If you feel that strongly about it you can join another project, it's not like we're trying to have a race or contest with other projects; i.e. people should join the one they like. |

I don't think anyone doesn't, especially the teamed up people, which I'm not a part of, but to see all that credit just suddenly disappear, it's pretty disappointing, especially not knowing if, and when it's going to happen again. I've been w/the BOINC-Climateprediction project since August 5th, and had close to some 16 to 17,000 credits acquired, approximately, then the other day, it suddenly dropped to around 6,000, then suddenly up to around 10,000, where it's stayed. As of this morning, I've got around 11,795. The other issue that's irritating is the fact that whenever you seem to changed anything on your computer(s), you are assigned a new Computer ID. The first time I signed onto BOINC-ClimatePrediction, I was assigned ID 197, if I recall. Now I've got 1027, because I switched OS's on that predicular system, but this isn't that important, to really worry about. |

I believe there's a "merge feature" to bring together different computer id's that are the same computer? I haven't actually tried it, and I think that could have been some of the lost credits also (another reason I'm not going to "rerun" credits ever again). Although perhaps it checks to not allow merging different op-systems together? I'll look into your missing credits. |

I tried after Dbox was switched from Windoze to Linux; no luck. (Credits me with five boxes; there are physically four.)
