Hi, From http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/show_user.php?userid=170682 is looks like I have lost appoximately 10 000 credits the last 24 hours. The page lists my current credits as 583 071, but on the list of all my projects its listed as 594 016. My local boinc manager cliet shows a similar drop in credits. How can this happen? Is it related to the outage during the weekend? Regards Kjell Randa |

it\'s probably due to adjustments in the \"model credit rate\" - i.e. some values were changed to more closely reflect credits comparable to SETI@home credits (the \"gold standard\" of credits) |

OK, but the change should not be retroactive, in my opinion. Chi ha avuto ha avuto chi ha dato ha dato, is a Neapolitan proverb. Tullio Of course it means who has had has had and who has given has given. Cheers. |

according to the boincstats comparison thymelawn pointed me to, it looks like we\'re slightly under the avg for SETI@home, so I will bump it up 5% tonight to bring it more in line with other projects \"credit per second\" |

Hi, That helped, my credit is now 612 474. Up 30 000 instead of down 10 000 :-) Regards Kjell Randa |

Tullio, I hope my post in the News thread explains why Carl implemented the credit increase retrospectively. Cpdn news |

Tullio, I hope my post in the News thread explains why Carl implemented the credit increase retrospectively. OK, thanks for your answering. The whole credits issue varies from project to project. I am getting about 19 credits/hour in SETI and Einstein, 78 credits/hour in AQUA and 110 credits/hour in QMC/ORCA. The last two are alpha projects. Always on the same Linux box running SuSE Linux 10.3 on an Opteron 1210 with 2 cores at 1.8 GHz. In SETI and AQUA there are users running CUDA apps on their nVIDIA boards and the issue is even more confusing. But it makes an interesting subject of discussion in the fora. Cheers. Tullio |

I lost almost 51,000 points. From 124,993 to 74,006. Though now it says 77,540. There is no way you can call that a small credit loss. Please tell me those points are not lost. They have been earned. Please reply promptly to this because I\'m taking your answer back to the club. There are a lot of clubs that lost over 250,000 points. Seti.USA lost 340,000 points, LAF lost over 1.5 mil ( I\'m actually ok with that ). These numbers are from boincstats. The teams are going to want those points back. I\'m going to want those points back. Patrick |

On or about Aug 12 or 13th my total points dropped from about 145,000 to about 128,000. What happened? How do I get my points back? |

OK, I\'m 20 odd K point\'s down, question one is why? Question two is will they be recovered? Question three is do you want me to crunch for this project again? Anweres please (postcards not accepted)! Rob.B |

Hi Rob and everyone When I composed yesterday\'s forum News announcement about credits (top of this Number Crunching section) we did not realise that some members had lost more than 5% of their previous credits. If you lost 5% or less you will be compensated fully for the loss because the credit rate for all models has been increased by 5% and the increase is applied retroactively. If you lost more than 5% you will be partly compensated. For example, a 15% loss - 5% compensation = 10% loss. This situation is clearly not logical or fair so we are trying to discover why different members have lost different amounts. It will help if as many members as possible can look at the computers listed in their account and answer Milo\'s question here. Cpdn news |

It appears that the loss has something to do with current activity... The higher the value of recent trickles compared to total accumulated credits, the higher the percentage of loss. Individuals that were basically inactive lost no credits at all (but were still awarded the 5% compensation). |

That\'s interesting and another avenue for investigation - thanks. |

Please do not get too excited. I am active and have not lost much :) even less then 5 percent. As a matter of fact? i might have gained. Yes, before this incident i had finished my HADAM3P and not downloaded any further, just now glued to a HADCM3. Regards. Masud. It appears that the loss has something to do with current activity... |

As one of the above this applies to me. Also this means that a UK Met Office HADAM3P has not been crunched on this account. As some newer members appear to be the bigger losers ,just wondered if there was a connection . Cheers Chris. |

... There were a bunch of workunits from April / May / June which didn\'t make it as far as the new server (they were left behind by the import process for some reason). The effect would be that people who started at that time would have temporarily lost most of their credit. These missing workunits have now been picked up, but could people keep an eye out just in case there are more which need to be restored (for example, if you see a task running on your PC which isn\'t mentioned on the website, we need to know about it).
