Hello I recently got a new computer, and I am excited now to use it for BOINC projects. On my old computer I contributed to SETI@home, but I would now like to move to climateprediction.net. I have successfully set up BOINC and attached to the project, but I have a question about the projects it downloaded. I have a really nice NVIDIA GPU that would greatly increase my computation power if it was used, but BOINC failed to download any GPU tasks. I was wondering if this could be remedied in any way so I can contribute the most to the project in my capability. It is a shame to have such a nice computer that I only occasionally top the potential of. |

The climate model programs are the ones used by the UK Met Office, which run on their supercomputers for weather and climate forecasting and research. The only way that this project will use gpus, is if the Met Office re-writes their code to run on gpus instead of their supercomputers. You\'ll find that this has been mentioned many times if you do a search. |

I\'m sure you could use the CPU for CPDN and the GPU for another project that could use it. Cpdn news |
