This may be related to the "No credits in last 3 days???" thread. According to my "Pending credit" page, I have 25,788.08 cobblestones pending from the following results, some of which were completed a while ago. It seems a very high figure. Can it be right?

11529655 6,176.41 (completed 2 Sep 2010)
11752657 3,644.11 (just completed, not reported at time of posting)
11763001 6,176.41 (completed 9 Dec 2010)
11891665 7,145.52 (completed 15 Oct 2010)
11964812 2,244.09 (completed 15 Nov 2010)
12376630 401.55 (in progress)

(Yes. The actual sum's 25,788.09.)

Pending credit has no significance in CPDN because there's no validation of submitted results. (It might be better to say 'no validation that affects credits' - the project does its own validation for quality control purposes.)

The 'claimed' and 'granted' figures are the same in your first linked task - and the same as the awards for other completed task of that type.

Thanks, Iain. I wondered if it was yet another unused but unhidden BOINC feature.

If pending credit has no significance, why does it accumulate? (mine has accumulated to 28,897.99)

Pending credits is created by the BOINC system. For other projects, this is fine.
But here, the various Granted credits are re-calculated daily by an in-house program, and used to replaced whatever BOINC has written into the various fields. The fields for Pending don't get reset to zero during this process.

Thanks for clearing that up Les. Hopefully BOINC programmers can include an option for scientists to reset pending credits when granted credits need to be recalculated in the next BOINC upgrade. I understand that sometimes we have to work with what we've got.

This is just one of several things that are relevant to other projects but not to CPDN and ideally should be hidden. The problem is that CPDN has never had enough programmers with enough time to fix everything. I'm afraid this is still the case at the moment.
