Hello,

i set my network settings in Boinc manager to :
get work for 0,3 days. As i restart CP it download 4 Headmaps :) thats work for 4 weeks.
After 3 hour download all 4 wu's start to work ( other projects wu's were busy to )
Maybe the problem is that Boinc manager was empty at this time and i have a quadcore CPU ? How can i manage that CP wont download more than 2 headmaps ?
And start only 1 unit ?

Greetz

The easiest way for you to do what you want is to suspend three of the four downloaded HADAM3P models. BOINC will not download new work for a project if any models are suspended. When one model is finished then just 'resume' one of the suspended models. When all four models are finished BOINC will download another four.

The HADAM3P models you have completed are taking approximately three days, so you would have to resume a downloaded model every three days. BOINC can manage work automatically, but it is quite hard to get BOINC to download a specific number of models (e.g. two) and run a specific number of models (e.g. one). If you want the models to be managed automatically by BOINC with one model running on average then you will have to adjust the 'resource share' for each project (in the project preferences). For example:

project A: 300
CPDN: 100 (which is the default value)

or

project A: 100
project B: 200
CPDN: 100

In the long term (weeks, months) BOINC will then make sure that CPDN will get an average of 25% of the available computing power - i.e. one of the four cores.

Thx Iain,

i already suspend 3 wu's this morning... i will see after they are ready.
I think the problem was that my boinc manager was empty and i restart work.
CP was the first project i asked for new work... so CP found 4 cores with no work :)
Next time i restart the other projects first. In the past when i run 5 or 6 projects CP never download more then 2 wu's
