Hey guys, why do I have a pending credit of 7,757.02, although you don't use pending credits? And why did my "UK Met Office Coupled Model Full Resolution Ocean v6.07" just finish, but I can't see any credits beeing validated and it is still listed as "Timed out - no response" (http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=7464545)? And even more, why is this same WU listed twice in my results, on the one hand as "Timed out - no response" (see above) and on the other hand as "Completed and validated" (http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/workunit.php?wuid=7463096)? It is definitely the same WU, because I only had one to crunch on and my BOINC-Client was showing me, that this one ran out on September 1st and I just continued crunching, even after the deadline. And why does it show me, that I got 12,130.56 credits for this "second" one, although my Credits didn't increase? Thanks for any help! |

With regards to the credits, it is not unusual for there to be a delay between the tasks completing and the credits being credited as it were. My own total credit is over a week behind in the tables compared to it's actual total as shown on BOINC. The two tasks shown are clearly not the same task as they even belong to different work units. I wonder if the task from the work unit with the higher number that timed out was sent when the earlier one completed? As to why it should have timed out - that is something I guess one of the forum moderators who knows a bit more than I do may be able to answer. Dave. |

Ok sent out on same date, sorry I didn't look carefully enough but it is still a different work unit. There are posts around about phantom work units but I haven't really studied them as it is not a problem I have encountered yet. Dave |

Ok, thank you Dave. I guess it was a phantom WU then, because I really just had one WU to crunch, so I just wonder why it shows this one WU I completed with a deadline until today, but my BOINC-Manager showed me, that the deadline of this WU was passed at the 1st of September (it even asked me, if I want to cancel this WU, beacause I might not get Credit anymore!)...which is also shown as deadline of this phantom WU...There must be some mistake. Also when I passed the deadline, I already had crunched around 85% of this WU... Strange thing... |

And another thing about the pending credit...I have this amount since May and it just doesn't show up in my credits... :( |

And another thing about the pending credit...I have this amount since May and it just doesn't show up in my credits... :( Pending credit means absolutely nothing in CPDN. Just ignore it. |

(For the benefit of other readers:) it even asked me, if I want to cancel this WU, beacause I might not get Credit anymore! In CPDN you get credit for every trickle, so Boinc is wrong here. Boinc does many things that are useful for CPDN -- issuing work, and collecting results, and so on -- but unfortunately it also does some things that are not useful. |
