The BOINC status on my system 'Trickle up message pending, Communication deferred' and has been that way for a couple of days which is really frustrating since I now missed a deadline after investing 570 hours for a project. Is the project down? The website has no information and other projects on the same system have no communication issues.

To start with
THERE IS NO DEADLINE ON THIS PROJECT!!!!

And the 570 hours was/is for a Task or model.

As for your problem, no the project isn't down. It's functioning normally, which is why there hasn't been a News item about this.

Is this the model in question?
If so, there hasn't been a trickle since the 20 September.

This is a long way back, and there were several problems about then. I don't know which may apply to your model, so:

Are there any other messages about this model?
Have you tried Suspending BOINC, shutting it down, and then restarting it?

Yes hadcm3n_ybut_1900_40_007348223_0 is exactly the model in question, it just made me nervous that BOINC shows a deadling and the task is just stitting there with a status of 'ready to report' and does not go out. So I guess all is well and I'll just let it sit there and not worry abuot the deadline :-)

Thanks!

With an old Task, there might be an issue with an address in "Client_state" file. If so, this might help:

DON'T just let it sit there. It may never 'report' by itself.

With a model that old, it may be the change in the server address. Which was posted about quite a bit back then.

Please follow Astro's advice in the link that he provided.
