Hello everyone, I am using an Intel Macbook and am having trouble with my "Transfers". I have reset the project a couple of times which successfully downloads the same work again but stops at the same point.
Here is my event log:

Tue Aug 14 10:35:25 2012 | | Internet access OK - project servers may be temporarily down.
I see it says servers may be down but I checked the server status and the only one down is an upload server. This is my very first attempt at using BOINC so any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric |

I imagine it means that the relevant server is down even if it doesn't show on the server status page yet.

Thanks Dave,I guess I'm just in sit-and-wait mode right now. |

Can't be 100% sure as both my machines are a long way from asking for more work at the moment. |

Changing my mind as the numbers on the server status page indicate other people are getting work OK. Will need someone with more knowledge of the system than I have to diagnose it however! |

This download problem does sometimes occur for various reasons, one being that a link to a mirror server has failed.
And the Server status page only shows a few situations. One that doesn't show up, is when an individual program has failed.
Hang in there; it'll get sorted.
As you're a new user, it'd be a good idea to go to the Number crunching section, open the top (sticky) thread called News and Announcements, and then subscribe to it. This will get you an email message when ever some thing is posted there.
It's the thread where we post Things people really need to know.

Hi,
We have one server down at present: Uploader1.atm.ox.ac.uk.
We are trying to move data off her to other servers, but it is a bit like playing musical chairs - everything is OK until the music stops.
She will be back up and running in a few days - we have to move several TB of data to a new home.

Hi, Les.
What you actually see and receive here are set in your Community Preferences, reachable via a link on your account page.
For News and Announcements always to appear at the top of Number crunching's thread list, "Do not reorder sticky posts" has to be unchecked in your "Message display" preferences.
For e-mail notifications, the appropriate radio button has to be selected under "Notifications".
And of course the "Update" button then has to be clicked under "Update". :)
