Hi have updated to Win 7 x64 and have installed Boinc x64. Boinc seems doesnt download work units, says there are none available. Is there any problem with x64 version of Boinc, is this normal? Where can I see in the page if there are taks available? Thank you very much

Hi Karlsson

See the blue menu on the left-hand side of this page? If you click on Server Status you'll see what models are available.

And here's a direct link:

http://climateapps2.oerc.ox.ac.uk/cpdnboinc/server_status.html

Other things to do to maximise your chances of getting work:

* In the BOINC Manager Projects tab don't update the climateprediction project. It is only allowed to contact the server once per hour to request tasks, but if you update CPDN the 60 minutes begins again. So just wait!

* In the BOINC Manager > Tools > Computing Preferences > Network buffer > edit this to the maximum of 10 days if you want this for your other projects.

* In your account (Menu on left) in the climateprediction Preferences, make sure that you have allowed all five types of model currently available. These are:

Hadcm high-resolution model (but it's a long model)
Hadam SAF Southern Africa
Hadam PNW Pacific Nort-West
Hadam EU Europe
Hadam ANZ Australia & NZ

You can edit the types you want. The more you choose the sooner you will get work.

Thanks for the help, I see that all the projects are running (green) but next to it the database/file server shows all in 0. Does that mean there are no work units available? I have checked the preferences and I have all the models enabled, those you mention and more (older ones?) ABout the 10 days, It also downloads lots of units of other projects so maybe is not vvery practical...Could it be cause it looks there are no taks available??. THank you very much

Yes. Currently there aren't any tasks available. This is a 'normal' situation.

When work is available, there's usually about 5,000 units released. And there's currently 22,748 Active Hosts.
